A quiet eye.
An honest frame.

Portrait of Sena Okafor

Hi, I’m Sena.

I’m a Brooklyn-based photographer with a background in documentary work and a deep love for natural light. For the past nine years I’ve been photographing real people in real moments — weddings that feel like gatherings, families who actually like each other, and quiet portraits that don’t ask anyone to perform.

My approach is simple: show up early, stay late, and never chase the perfect pose. I’m interested in how people actually are when they feel safe and seen.

Before picking up a camera full-time I studied visual anthropology and worked as a photo editor at a small independent magazine. That training still shapes how I see — I’m drawn to the small gestures that tell the larger story.

How We Work Together
01

Conversation First

We start with a call or coffee. You tell me what matters to you about the day or the portrait. I listen more than I talk.

02

Thoughtful Planning

I’ll send a simple guide and a short questionnaire. We’ll talk about light, timing, and the people you want to feel most present.

03

Present on the Day

I arrive early and move gently. You’ll barely notice me — until you see the images and realize I caught the moments you lived.

04

Careful Delivery

You’ll receive a private gallery with a curated selection of images. Full-resolution files and a printed book option are included.
